Daegunn Jei 제대건

Patent attorney (and former in-house IP manager and engineer)

Mr. Jei earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Electronic Communication Engineering from Hanyang University in Korea and earned a Juris Doctor from University of Houston Law Center in Texas.

Mr. Jei began his patent career at Samsung Electronics in Korea where he spent more than eight years working as a mobile telecommunications engineer and subsequently as an IP manager for patent matters related to Samsung’s telecommunications and network businesses. Specifically, he worked for negotiations and managements on U.S. and European litigation, procurement of patents, and patent prosecution.

He worked at an AmLaw 100 law firm in Washington D.C. over eight years, where he specialized in patent negotiations, litigation, monetization, and prosecution. He also worked at patent law firms in D.C. and Philadelphia, where he worked for wireless standard-related invention counseling, patent application drafting, and patent prosecution.

Througout his patent experience at Samsung and the law firms, he has involved in patent matter related to various electrical, electronic, mechanical, and chemical technologies.
